Band 6 Occupational Therapist
Salary: 35,000 - 38,500
40 hours per week


Our client, a leading provider of inpatient mental health services, is looking for a skilled and dedicated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join their team. The hospital offers a range of secure services for both men and women. As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist you will work closely with a full multidisciplinary team to develop individualised care plans that support service users in enhancing their skills. You will be a key player in ensuring that each individual receives the support they need to lead a fulfilling life while in care.

Requirements for this role:

Qualifications:
  • Occupational Therapy (BSc or equivalent) qualification and current registration HCPC.
  • Further postgraduate training or experience in working with individuals with complex mental health needs and learning disabilities is desirable.

Experience:
  • Significant experience in Occupational Therapy, preferably in a secure care, mental health, or similar setting.
  • Proven ability to assess and treat occupational dysfunction and develop person-centred interventions.
  • Experience in working independently, managing a diverse caseload, and prioritizing workloads.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience, including mentoring, teaching, or providing clinical supervision.

In this role you will be responsible for:
  • Assessing and treating occupational dysfunction, developing tailored interventions to support service users in achieving their personal goals.
  • Working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care and promote recovery.
  • Providing clinical and managerial supervision to junior members of staff.
  • Sharing leadership responsibilities and contribute to the wider Occupational Therapy provision.
  • Participating in the ongoing development of Occupational Therapy services across the hospital.
  • Ensuring high standards of service provision and contribute to the therapeutic culture of the hospital.
