Band 6 Occupational Therapist - Maternity Cover

Salary: 38,500 (pro-rata)

Hours per week: 16-24

Our client, a specialist service for adults with autism and learning disabilities, is looking for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join their team for maternity cover from January to October 2025. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference within a specialist service and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver tailored, outcome-based care.

What we're looking for:
  • Qualifications: Degree in Occupational Therapy and a valid HCPC registration
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist or above within the UK,
  • Assessment and Planning Skills: Strong abilities in assessment, planning, and risk management, with a focus on personalised, outcome-based care.
  • Team Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Empowerment and Training: Passion for empowering staff through training and knowledge-sharing to improve overall care quality.

Your day-to-day:
  • Clinical Care and Caseload Management: Provide direct clinical care through comprehensive OT assessments, treatment, and management for a caseload of residents, ensuring individual needs are met.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with an MDT, including Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, and the Activity Coordinator, to create integrated care pathways that support residents' progress and well-being.
  • Treatment Planning and Implementation: Assess, implement, and develop individualized OT treatment programs based on diagnosis, assessments, and associated risks, building effective treatment and support plans for each resident.
  • Empowering Staff Through Training: Deliver training to the wider care team to enhance care quality and ensure consistent, effective support for residents.
  • Professional Supervision and Support: Receive a thorough induction and ongoing support, meeting regularly with the Head Occupational Therapist and other OT colleagues for guidance and supervision.
