We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and skilled Female Mental Health Support Worker to join our exceptional healthcare team at Kent. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide essential support to patients with mental health conditions, helping them manage their well-being in a hospital setting. You will play a vital role in assisting patients in their recovery journey, offering a safe and supportive environment for them to express their needs and concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide practical and emotional support to female patients experiencing mental health challenges, including those with anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other psychiatric conditions.

  • Assist in the delivery of individual and group therapeutic interventions under the guidance of clinical staff.

  • Observe and monitor patient behaviors, offering assistance in daily activities to promote recovery and independence.

  • Assist patients with personal care, including dressing, grooming, and hygiene, ensuring their comfort and dignity are maintained at all times.

  • Engage patients in meaningful activities to promote their mental well-being, including art therapy, exercise, and social interactions.

  • Provide emotional support and act as a key point of contact for patients, helping them to express their concerns and needs.

  • Assist in the creation and implementation of personalized care plans in collaboration with mental health professionals.

  • Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing and clinical teams in a timely manner.

  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated patient care.

  • Ensure the safety and security of the environment by following hospital policies and safeguarding procedures.

  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date patient records and care documentation in line with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Promote a non-judgmental, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere, maintaining professional boundaries with patients and colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a mental health support or care role
