Your Role and Responsibilities: As a valued member of the Harrow Community Therapy Service, you ll collaborate closely with our Integrated and Specialist Community Services, including Community Nursing, Speech and Language Therapy, Tissue Viability, Falls Prevention, and Rapid Response teams. You ll also work with Primary Care Network colleagues, Frailty Services, and the Hospital Discharge Team, supporting smooth transitions and enhancing patient care.

Key aspects of your role include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing individualised treatment programs to promote independence in areas such as self-care, productivity, and leisure.
  • Supervising and mentoring Therapy Support Workers and students, with a focus on building your leadership and delegation skills.
  • Participating in joint assessments with healthcare professionals, setting patient-centered goals and delivering effective, evidence-based treatment interventions.

What We re Looking For:

  • A newly qualified Occupational Therapist eager to grow within a supportive team.
  • Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and organisational skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.

Essential Requirements:

Education/ Qualification

  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current AHP with UK HCPC registration
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (Desirable)

Experience

  • Relevant work experience in a variety of clinical placements.
  • Evidence of up-to-date CPD
  • Experience of working as part of an MDT
  • Use of functional assessment and activity analysis.
  • Evidence of previous employment as an Occupational therapist, apprentice, assistant (Desirable)
  • Experience of delegation to support staff (Desirable)

Skills & Knowledge

  • Knowledge of current best practice in OT, demonstrate clinical reasoning, applying theory to practice.
  • Ability to work single- handedly with individuals and groups.
  • Understanding of professional ethics and their application in practice
  • Awareness of the legal responsibilities of the profession
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, ability to listen and present information, written and orally in a clear, concise, and logical manner.
  • Commitment to client centred non-discriminatory practice.
