Eden Brown Synergy are currently working with a private client who are looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join their team on a permanent basis.

This role as Speech and Language Therapist will provide a service to three Hospitals.

These hospitals focus on active rehabilitation and recovery for those with mental illnesses and personality disorders.

Chesterfield

  • A 12 bedded low secure unit for adult Males with a Primary diagnosis of Learning Disabilities who have additional complex care needs. These may include Autism and Mental Health Needs. It also has a one bedded bespoke therapeutic apartment. We have a strong focus on recovery and enabling patients to live fulfilled lives

Leeds:

  • A 21-bedded locked rehabilitation and recovery service suitable for males aged 18 years and over. We provide recovery and rehabilitation services to males with mental health needs, developmental needs, personality disorders, Autism and co-morbities.

York

  • A 13 bedded registered independent hospital, supporting males with severe and enduring mental health conditions, learning disabilities. We provide recovery and rehabilitation services to males with mental health needs, developmental needs, personality disorders, Autism and co-morbities.

We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable, highly skilled and person focused. We would prefer experience in working with mental health, developmental disability, Autism and co-morbidy; however we will consider applicants with the passion and desire to grow; and to think outside the box.

Some of your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • This person will manage and co-ordinate the implementation of individual treatment plans for speech and language therapy services ensuring treatments, activities and interventions are delivered through effective application and communication.
  • Receives and responds promptly to referrals undertaking assessments to identify and prioritise patient needs, before planning and delivering the appropriate and relevant interventions on an individual or group basis.
  • Maintains accurate and timely records, detailing each patient's rehabilitation / progression
  • Ensures the effective and efficient management of themselves.
  • Maintains and develops close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring clinical practice is in line with policies, procedures and professional codes.
  • Complies with statutory regulations and quality standards.
  • Contributes to business growth by actively promoting the therapy services in line with the local business plans.
  • Maintains effective communication links with patients, relatives, carers, and commissioners and other external professionals, as necessary, throughout the patient's recovery and rehabilitation.
