Overview Volunteers make an enormous contribution to our work at Change Grow Live. Last year over 1400 volunteers donated over a quarter of a million hours of their time to our organisation.Would you like to join our growing team of volunteers and make a real difference? For more than 15 years, Complementary Therapies - including Acupuncture, Craniosacral Therapy, Reflexology, and Shiatsu - have been on offer to clients at some drug and alcohol services. For those service users who are making a genuine effort to change their lives, a course of 6-12 sessions can play a significant role in their recovery process by supporting their well-being and self-esteem.As a volunteer practitioner, you would typically come to the service for a morning or afternoon per week to offer 2-3 scheduled sessions. Like all staff, you will be offered training. As part of a larger multidisciplinary team, you will be broadening your experience. You will liaise with the Complementary Therapy Coordinator about appointments and for regular supervision. You will need to have your own professional indemnity insurance. Travel expenses can be reimbursed. Responsibilities Volunteers contribute to Change Grow Live in a variety of ways. From Admin Volunteers to Service User Reps, from Peer Mentors to Healthcare Support Volunteers, from Independent Visitors to Community Mentors, each volunteer brings a unique set of skills and talents. Wellbeing Practitioner- Prison Lead

We currently seeking a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker for our client in Reading on a 3 month contract to start ASAP. The rate of pay will be negotiated between 20-21 an hour. This will be Full Time Contract, Monday to Friday from 09:00-17:00. As a Recovery Worker you will be required to: <ul> <li>Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey;</li> <li>Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral;</li> <li>Reducing alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community;</li> <li>Promoting carer, service user and community involvement;</li> <li>Providing advocacy for access to partnership services;</li> <li>Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self determination.</li> </ul> An Enhanced Adults and Children's DBS will be required for this position.
