Our Complementary Therapy team here at Rowcroft are looking for qualified volunteers to join our team.Are you a therapist with a recognised qualification in aromatherapy, reflexology or massage? Or can you teach relaxation or mindfulness techniques?Our busy team covers the whole of Rowcroft’s catchment area from Dartmouth to Dawlish to support our patients and their carers and families in their own homes – helping to help make every day the best it can be in a very direct way.We also support those in our inpatient unit and offer sessions at the outpatient centre here at the hospice in Torquay.Being part of our team gives you the opportunity to learn best practice when working with end of life patients and their families, and the bereaved.We can offer you opportunities for attending education events to enhance your knowledge of specialist palliative care, and to experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.All our volunteers hold their own insurance and belong to the relevant professional body. Complementary Therapy Volunteers

We are looking for qualified and insured complementary therapists in massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, holistic facials, and reiki to provide complementary therapy for patients and carers in our In-Patient Unit and Living Well centre.&nbsp;We would also welcome to hearing from those who are trained in the art of Mindfulness/Relaxation/Visualization to help run weekly group sessions.&nbsp;The role includes:<ul><li>Being committed to delivering high quality holistic care.</li><li>Working as part of the complementary therapy team.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Attending mandatory training sessions, sharing best practice, team meetings, etc.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Keeping detailed and accurate records of all interactions.&nbsp;</li><li>Acting in accordance with the complementary therapy policy, and all procedures and protocols relating to complementary therapy.&nbsp;</li><li>Attending monthly group supervision and specific on-going education provided by the complementary therapist.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintaining own professional CPD in line with professional membership requirements.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul>Your Skills and Abilities:Qualifications&nbsp;Applicants must hold a level three complementary therapy training qualification, at least one years’ post qualification experience, undertake regular Career Professional Development (CPD), keep themselves up to date with relevant industry knowledge, be IT literate and hold insurance cover as well as have membership of a professional association (e.g. FHT, CTHA, CNHC).&nbsp;&nbsp;Experience&nbsp;&nbsp;Those working with our patients must have experience of working with clients as a qualified complementary therapist.&nbsp; We welcome applications from both newly qualified therapists and experienced practitioners to work with carers.&nbsp;Those with less than 1 years’ experience may be considered initially for hand and foot therapy, with the potential to upskill to deliver other therapies.&nbsp;Skills&nbsp;and qualitiesExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse group of patients and colleagues.&nbsp;Understanding the need to take particular precautions in giving therapy to patients with palliative care needs and at the end of life, and the&nbsp;ability to adjust treatments accordingly.&nbsp;Maturity and self-awareness regarding the emotional impact of working with death and dying.&nbsp;Well-organised, enthusiastic and self-motivated.&nbsp;Able to work independently and as part of a team.&nbsp;What’s in it for you?<ul><li>The opportunity to develop and extend your skills, gain experience in palliative care and in working in a healthcare setting.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>The opportunity to gain experience of liaising with other healthcare professionals as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to be part of a team of other complementary therapists working across different disciplines.&nbsp;</li><li>Full Training and support will be provided.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Work with a friendly team and be part of the Isabel family</li><li>Support your local community</li><li>Contribute to the provision of care to our patients</li><li>Comprehensive induction and training</li><li>Support with your career goals and personal development</li><li>Opportunities to learn from long-term volunteers and staff</li><li>Agreed upon travel expenses can be reimbursed</li></ul>Please note that a full Enhanced DBS check will be carried out.&nbsp;Thank you for supporting Isabel Hospice.Your contribution is very much appreciated.
