Behaviour Mentor - Mainstream Secondary School, Greenwich

Start Date: Immediate Full-Time, Long-Term Until End of Academic Year
Salary: Dependent on Experience

A well-respected mainstream secondary school in Greenwich is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their team immediately. This is a full-time, long-term position running until the end of the academic year.



The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will support students who require additional guidance to manage their behaviour and engagement in school. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and motivation.
  • Supporting students with behavioural challenges both in and out of the classroom.
  • Implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies to create tailored support plans.
  • Acting as a role model and providing a safe and structured environment for learning.


Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school or youth work setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient and resilient approach.
  • The ability to manage challenging behaviour and support students in developing self-regulation skills.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • A genuine passion for making a positive impact on students' lives.
