Social Worker (Safeguarding and Assessment)
Location: London
Salary: Up to 50,083 per annum
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent (36 hours per week)

The Role
Haringey Council is looking for a committed and skilled Social Worker to join our Safeguarding and Assessment Service. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in safeguarding children and families by carrying out detailed assessments and interventions to meet their needs. Working within a team dedicated to high-quality social care, you will be responsible for managing cases efficiently and ensuring the well-being of vulnerable children through targeted action and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive and high-quality casework to support vulnerable children and families, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Carry out thorough child and family assessments, including section 47 enquiries, to evaluate risk and need.
  • Develop and oversee SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) plans for children who are on Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), or Looked After Children (LAC) statuses.
  • Uphold high professional standards, engaging in regular supervision to support ongoing professional growth.

Who We're Looking For:
We are seeking candidates who hold a recognised social work qualification and are registered with Social Work England (SWE). You must have at least 12 months of post-qualification experience, ideally within safeguarding and assessment settings. Candidates should have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to manage a caseload effectively while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Teamwork and adaptability in challenging environments are key to success in this role.
