Associate Trauma Counsellor Required: Home-based/Online Salary: £30 per hourLocation: home based, onlineContract: initial 6 months self employed with possibility of an employed role at the end of the initial periodWe are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Trauma-Focused Therapist to join our award-winning, innovative team. We operate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and we are looking for someone who is comfortable working with risk.In this role, you will work with victim/survivors of sexual violence within a clearly defined and structured framework, focusing on phase 1 trauma therapy. You will utilize your knowledge of working with the impact of traumatic experiences, identifying and managing risk, intense emotions, behaviors, and other trauma responses to offer focused, time-limited, and open-ended therapy sessions remotely via video.This role initially is 6 months on a self-employed basis with the possibility of an employed role after the initial period. Within the 16 hours, you will see up to 13 clients per week, attend team meetings, case management, and clinical supervision. Detailed job description and main responsibilities The post involves leading on the delivery of the core treatment Programme (the Violence Reduction Programme). This is a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy-based programme that all patients admitted to the ward agree to partake in. It is an intense programme that runs twice a week, with out of group individual work, for approximately 12 months. In addition, a core part of the role involves completing specialist assessments and formulations with service users in order to further assist them in reducing their risk of violence and improving well-being. Service users are also involved in individual therapy which the post holder is integral to providing. On a wider level, the job involves contributing to the effective workings of the team and the service through contributing actively to staff supervision and training and promoting the psychologically informed framework for the service.
