Prison Education ensures all learners are put through Functional Skills Maths &amp; English, which then puts them on the pathway to vocational learning courses, such as Carpentry, Bricklaying, Painting &amp; Decorating, Plastering &amp; Tiling, Industrial Cleaning, Barbering, Catering and Horticulture.Prisons have a dedicated education department, with classrooms and fully functioning workshops, where teaching and learning can take place. You will be fully supported by an experienced education department. Training and development opportunities are available.Details of this position:This position is for an IAG Advisor. This role would provide face-to-face Information, Advice and Guidance to adult customers in a custody setting within the context of the contract applicable and to support customers to make informed career decisions.You will need to be able to handle the below responsibilities:<ul><li>Organisational and administrative work.</li><li>Developing and maintaining a full course file including comprehensive scheme of learning and lesson planning.</li><li>Deliver information, advice and guidance on all matters relating to learning and work including employment, education and training in 1:1 or group settings, using appropriate resources and tools</li><li>To provide initial curriculum related advice and guidance, and carry out interviewing, induction, assessment and examination (including invigilation activities) of students as required.</li></ul>37 hours per week Salary scale: 27,000- 30,000 per annumAnnual leave: 281.5 hours per annum, inclusive of statutory bank holidaysTo be considered, suitable candidates will need to meet the following criteria:<ul><li>Good basic general education including GCSE (or) equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C or above.</li><li>Proven experience in an administrative role.</li><li>Experience of working in a learning environment.</li><li>Competent with technology/strong IT skills</li></ul>Suitable candidates will need to be enthusiastic, resilient and have a humanistic approach.
